Manual of Style

The Wiki Formatting Guide describes the standard style to use when editing articles. Keep in mind this is not an exhaustive guide, and it is still a work in progress. This wiki uses a similar set of formatting guidelines as the Wikipedia Manual of Style.

If there are any issues or confusions concerning the formatting rules, you can contact a Wiki staff member.

• Fanon, opinionated, or speculative content is not allowed.
• Do not vandalize pages.
• Do not create new pages for content that already has a page on the wiki.
  • If a page was renamed during an act of vandalism, you may rename the page to its prior name.
• Always write in the American English language, unless you are quoting text in-game that is purposefully written in a different language.

• When using numbers, use English words if the number is zero to ten.
  • If the number is 11 or above, or if you are using numbers in infoboxes or tables, you can use figures or words (about five million people; 16 or sixteen; 84 or eighty-four; 200 or two hundred; but 3.75, 544, 21 million).
• Use of serial commas in articles is optional; therefore, unless it conflicts with the intended message, do not change it unnecessarily.
• If you are writing text included in game, you do not need to follow any conventional grammar rules: Write the text as it is written in-game. If the in-game text contains a grammatical error, you may place [sic] in brackets next to the text.
• Always use a proper, formal writing style when editing pages reminiscent of the standard Wikipedia style. For example, do not capitalize the beginning letter of every word in a sentence.

• Always capitalize the games title as PURSUITCORE.
• The following words and phrases are always capitalized in articles: "User," "Terminator," "Map," "Round Timer"/"Timer," "Zombie," "Generator," and "Fuel."
  • In addition, you should always capitalize the names of proper nouns, such as the names of specific items or games.
• The following words should never be capitalized: "health," "attack," "players," "downed," or "revive."

• Use a neutral point of view when writing; Do not include any personal opinion or bias.
• Stick to the topic of Pursuitcore; Do not make pages that are irrelevant to the core game.
• Do not swear on articles except in reference to something.
• Do not place false, speculative, or unconfirmed info in pages.

• There should be only one hyperlink to a specific article per section. If there are multiple hyperlink instances in a section, remove all except the first.
• Do not abbreviate names whenever possible in order to keep pages easily readable.
  • If a name is abbreviated in-game, write the name on the page as it is abbreviated in-game.

• When creating/editing a page, include the proper infobox template.
• Sub-heading 1 is nearly always used for section headers. Do not use Sub-heading 1 for text other than headers.

• The first paragraph of a page always includes the subject's name and some other brief information surrounding them.
• User and Terminator articles are formatted in the following order:

• • The Tips section contains information on how to easier survive as the specific character. It should not include basic tips that apply to most Users, such as "stay as far away from the Terminator as possible" or "avoid being seen", as it is very pointless to add.
  • The Trivia section contains information about an User's origins, lore, or other things that do not have an effect on gameplay.
    • Only include lore if it is canonical, verifiable lore provided by the creator. Do not add lore that is untrue, unverifiable, headcanon, or speculation.
  • The Changelog section should be very similar in structure to the existing Changelogs found on pages. They are formatted into bullet lists with specific dates, and sorted into Buffs, Nerfs, and Sidegrades, in that order. Use a similar past-tense sentence structure in all changes listed.
    • Any cosmetic changes or changes that otherwise do not affect that User's gameplay are considered Sidegreades
  • The Gallery section contains images, videos, and GIFs of a character. If the number of media in a gallery exceeds 25, a separate page should be made. Every piece of media in a gallery requires a caption. Periods are required at the end of gallery captions.

• If a gallery's number of files exceeds 25, a separate page for that gallery can be made.
• Periods are not required in image descriptions unless there are two or more sentences.

Here is a list of various templates that are used on pages throughout the Wiki. When embedding a template, input its name between two sets of curly brackets at the very top of the page.

If a Skin has been removed, do not place the RemovedContentNotice over the entire page. {{UpcomingContentNotice}} ▪︎ Pages whose primary subject will be added to PURSUITCORE in a future update. {{ActiveEditsNotice}} ▪︎ Pages that are currently undergoing a series of edits by another Wiki user. Do not edit pages with this template if you are not the person who added it. If you are the contributor who added the template, please remove it within 24 hours or when you finish your editing session. {{CandidateForDeletionNotice}} ▪︎ Pages that are considering to be deleted by the Wiki Staff team. Do not add or remove this template if you are not a member of the Wiki Staff team.
