Jack Noir is a Terminator in PURSUITCORE. He originates from Homestuck, one of the two required reading/viewing material to completely comprehend PURSUITCORE. He is a melee skirmisher who can whittle down the Users before taking them all out in one fell swoop with the Red Miles.

Appearanceedit

Jack Noir is a Carpacian from the planet Derse with a black body, black wings, a white outline and eyes, and a scar over his right eye. His form seen in PURSUITCORE specifically is "Bec Noir" after prototyping in his home universe. He wears torn pieces of red and orange fabric with a spade symbol as a makeshift shirt and a pink collar around his neck. He uses a Regisword, a black chess-themed sword as his main weapon and he wears a golden ring with pearl-like orbs on his right hand.

Things to note is his missing left arm and that his wings are translucent to him and opaque to Users/other Terminators.

Slash

Key: FType: ActiveCooldown: 1.2 seconds (miss) / 0.5 seconds (hit) / 2 seconds (full combo/miss during combo)

"Slash with your sword, dealing 20 damage on initial hit, when hit you can use it again up to two times before going on cooldown. Hitting another user will deal full damage, while hitting the same user does reduced damage."

Jack Noir swings forward, dealing 20 damage on initial contact, and initiating a combo. For each swing afterward, the damage will diminish (20 -> 10 -> 5), but does not diminish if a different User is hit afterward. The combo will end after three hits or one miss.
Missing an M1 applies the 1.2 second cooldown. Hitting an M1 applies the 0.5 second cooldown. Missing at any point during the combo, or hitting the full combo, applies the 2 second cooldown.
Delaying subsequent M1s during the combo will cause Jack Noir to lunge further (it's unknown if this is intentional or a bug, however). The speed boost given to a User when damaged is weaker for Jack's M1s.

Behead

Key: QType: ActiveCooldown: 14 seconds

"Swift dash forward, hitting a user does 25 damage and refreshes the cooldown. Hitting the same user will put the move on cooldown and deal 5 damage, allowing you to chain the attack multiple times."

Jack briefly flashes white with a global sound cue before dashing.
Successfully hitting this ability instantly refreshes the cooldown. Hitting an already marked User a second time will instead kick them to the ground, dealing 5 damage, ragdolling them for 1 second and ending the chain.
- For as long as there are unmarked Users near you, this ability can be reused infinitely.
The dash's direction is based on where your camera is pointed, and you are able to fly with it. Using it midair causes you to stop in place during the windup.
Subsequent dashes after the initial one will have a shorter windup. Missing puts all abilities on cooldown for 3 seconds.

For as long as there are unmarked Users near you, this ability can be reused infinitely.

Omnipotence

Key: RType: ActiveCooldown: 22 seconds (10 seconds at round's start)

"When used, Jack will start to glow for 2 seconds before teleporting to the furthest user and highlighting all users. This move can be used during a Behead chain to shorten its windup and continue the chain."

The teleport location is marked with a green orb that anyone can see. It does not follow the targeted User after being triggered.
You are forced to walk while teleporting, and unable to attack for a few seconds after teleporting. You are not Invulnerable at any point. The highlight lingers for ~4 seconds after teleporting.
- If used while Behead is active, Omnipotence has a shorter windup before teleporting, but a longer windup before dashing. The highlight does not linger.

Eldritch Tentacles

Key: EType: ActiveCooldown: 15 seconds

"Fire out two tentacles in the direction of your camera, these have weak homing, when hitting a user they will deal 1 temporary damage and pull the user to you."

Jack Noir flashes red with a global sound cue before sending out the tentacles.
The tentacles are projectiles with infinite range, and can be swayed back and forth by aiming the camera. Each tentacle can grab at most 1 User, and begins to retract the moment it hits a wall. The tentacles extend and retract at the same speed.
If a tentacle grabs a User on the way out, it will slowly pull them back to Jack Noir and hold them in place for ~1 second. If a tentacle grabs a User on the way back, it will pull them back much quicker, but will not hold them.
Jack can be stunned while Eldritch Tentacles are active, though the tentacles will still grab and pull Users regardless.
Upon filling the damage threshold bar next to it, this ability is changed into The Red Miles for one use.

The Red Miles

Key: EType: Passive

"Red Miles requires you to do enough damage to perform, after dealing enough damage it will replace Eldritch Tentacles. Using Red Miles launches several powerful tendrils that do ten damage on contact and home in on Users across the map. These tendrils cannot kill Users but deal permanent damage."

The ability's name is displayed at the top of the screen for both Jack and the Users upon activation.
The damage requirement for Red Miles depends on the number of Users at the start of the round, and increases for subsequent usages.
The number of tendrils depends on the number of Users currently alive, starting at 4 tendrils for 1 User.
Users are left on 1HP if they would have been downed/killed by Red Miles.
All abilities are put on cooldown for 4 seconds after the animation ends.

Tipsedit

Save Behead for situations where you're either guaranteed to land the hit, or there are enough Users around to reliably chain hits together.
- If necessary, Behead can also be used as a movement tool, both horizontally and vertically.
Take advantage of the ability to chain M1s by ambushing Users and hitting them multiple times before they can react.
The Red Miles will help you apply tremendous pressure. They deal permanent (though not lethal) damage and are very tricky to maneuver around. Seize the opportunity to chase survivors while they're active.
Eldritch Tentacles don't slow you down when used and have only a moderate cooldown timer. Use them often, especially in open areas.
When using Eldritch Tentacles, don't always aim straight towards the User, try to predict where the User will be moving for a higher chance of hitting the User.
If you hit a stunner with Eldritch Tentacles and you know that their stun ability is off-cooldown, run backwards to bait their stun and to get a guaranteed hit on them.
If you hit a User with Eldritch Tentacles, you can use Behead while they are pulled for a guaranteed Behead hit. Hence easily starting a chain.
If a Tac9 misses her Dropkick and she is far from you, you can easily take advantage of her endlag by using Behead.
If Behead was to be used in close range, bait the User's jump first, then Behead for a good chance of hitting the User.
- Keep in mind, it's not guaranteed and User's can use abilities that has iframes to thwart your attempt of Beheading them.
When going against Vinnie, don't aim your Behead straight towards him as he can easily react fast enough to get a free block. Instead, purposely miss your Behead to bait his Popup Block. Make sure you're at a distance from Vinnie before baiting his Popup Block.
- While your M1 gets set off-cooldown from Behead endlag right after Vinnie's endlag ends, you're still right near Vinnie.

Triviaedit

In lore, Jack Noir is by far the strongest Terminator, vastly outmatching nearly every other character.
